Real Christmas Tree Board

Seasonal Social and Recap Sizzle Reel

For the past two years, I’ve brainstormed and designed seasonal social content to entice young adults to ‘buy real’ for the holiday season.

black dividing line

What is the project?

Over 20+ social posts, static and animated for both organic and paid social campaigns.

What was the timeline?

Social Content, 2 months + Year Recap Video, 2 weeks

What were the tools?

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe AfterEffects, ElevenLabs

What was the goal?

Provide a suite of social graphics to entice young adults to head to the tree farm to buy a real Christmas tree. Also, the sizzle reel aimed to convince tree farmers to approve future Real Christmas Tree Board marketing budgets.

Before designing:

Our team, comprised of both designers and project managers, researched trends and possible creative content ideas. We based our direction on consumer data and surveys then each of us brought multiple ideas to the table.

During design:

After internal review of all ideas, we wait for client feedback and approval. Then start designing. Here are the initial versions of some of the static social content.

Some small changes led to shifting from static to animated, aligning more with the UX design trends and giving more focus to content in the visual. Below are the final versions.

There was a variety of posts, static images, animations and also carousels.

Additional Request, Sizzle Reel:

Not only did it need to be turned at rapid speed, but it also came with piecemeal edits and incomplete piece and he just rolled with everything and packaged a great piece. We are blessed and lucky to have Troy still so integrated in all our teams.”

Additional Request, Sizzle Reel:

After designing and getting the social content approved, a request to summarize and highlight the year’s work came in. This required preliminary story boarding and extensive animation across a five minute video. For this request the timeline was extremely short, less than a week from approved content and there was little team support since timelines were fast.

Follow-Up

After a number of revisions and additions including the inclusion of a voice over, the client and account team responded very positively and shared praise for my quick design work.
